Dr. Jonathan Zoghby is the only fellowship-trained cataract and glaucoma specialist in North Mississippi. A Mobile, Alabama native, he graduated summa cum laude from The University of Mississippi in 2005 before earning his medical degree from UAB School of Medicine in 2009. He completed his ophthalmology residency at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he received the distinguished Top Resident Surgeon Award. Dr. Zoghby then returned to UAB to complete a prestigious fellowship in glaucoma and anterior segment/advanced refractive cataract surgery before joining Rayner Eye Clinic in Oxford in 2014.
Since his arrival, Dr. Zoghby has transformed glaucoma care in North Mississippi, performing thousands of procedures and introducing innovative interventions previously unavailable in the region. His practice draws patients from across North Mississippi and several surrounding states, offering subspecialty services typically found only in major metropolitan referral centers.
With advanced training in modern cataract surgery, Dr. Zoghby specializes in premium intraocular lens technology. He offers the latest lenses from multiple manufacturers and personalizes lens selection for each patient, maximizing their independence from glasses following surgery.
As the region's only fellowship-trained glaucoma specialist, Dr. Zoghby performs a comprehensive range of minimally invasive glaucoma surgeries (MIGS), both as standalone procedures and in conjunction with cataract surgery, to reduce patients' dependence on glaucoma medications, slow disease progression, and minimize the need for more extensive interventions. For patients with advanced glaucoma, he also performs complex procedures including tube shunts and trabeculectomies.
Dr. Zoghby is deeply committed to physician education and has dedicated himself to keeping referring doctors throughout the region informed about the latest advances in glaucoma and cataract care through numerous presentations, office visits, and lectures. He maintains open lines of communication with colleagues, making himself readily available by phone or text to ensure patients receive exceptional, coordinated care.
Additionally, Dr. Zoghby performs LASIK, PRK, and refractive lens exchanges for patients seeking reduced dependence on corrective eyewear. Through these comprehensive offerings, he has helped thousands of patients achieve greater visual freedom.
Dr. Zoghby met his wife, Libby, a Memphis native, during their time at Ole Miss. They have three daughters. Outside the office, he enjoys traveling, college sports, fitness, reading, and outdoor activities, particularly those on the water.
